In light of the upcoming election for the next Special Rapporteur for Freedom of Expression, \u00a0the Due Process of Law Foundation (DPLF), the Center for Justice and International Law (CEJIL) and \u00a0Open Society Justice Initiative prepared\u00a0a joint publication<\/strong>\u00a0presenting\u00a0each of the candidates’ views<\/strong>\u00a0on relevant issues for the hemisphere.<\/p>\n

This document seeks to bring\u00a0greater transparency to the process<\/strong>\u00a0and provide information to the public about the candidates’ views.\u00a0 We believe that civil society has a vital role to play in ensuring election processes that are\u00a0transparent<\/strong>, supportive of\u00a0diversity<\/strong>, and that promote candidates of the highest competence.\u00a0We hope you find this document useful and informative.<\/p>\n
