DPLF, jointly with the ITTC (Instituto Terra, Trabalho e Cidadania) and Cimi (Conselho Indigenista Missionario), launch the Portuguese translation of the “Manual to Defend the Rights of Indigenous Peoples”, originally created by DPLF.
The manual addresses the international instruments and mechanisms for the protection of indigenous communities’ human rights, those which, although poorly disseminated, are extremely relevant in the context of grave systematic violations of the rights of indigenous communities in Latin America and globally.
The objective of the Portuguese translation is precisely to widen the knowledge of the aforementioned concrete human rights tools for indigenous communities and peoples as well as organizations that represent and work with these communities.
