50 Years After Operation Condor in the Southern Cone – Academic Conference
Marking 50 years since the establishment of Operation Condor, this conference aims to reflect on the coordinated repressive practices in the Southern Cone, the serious human rights violations committed in that context, and the challenges faced by emerging democracies in pursuing truth, justice, and accountability.
The Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law at American University Washington College of Law, in collaboration with the Embassy of Uruguay in the United States and the Mission of Uruguay to the OAS, and with the support of WOLA, CEJIL, and DPLF, invites you to participate in this academic event, which will also foster discussion on the role of international human rights law in addressing these crimes, featuring experts, practitioners, and scholars in the field.
